Mortgage Bankers Association of New York Appoints New Officers
New York, NY, Nov 19, 2008 - /FLIERWIRE/-- The Mortgage Bankers Association of New York, Inc. (MBA of New York), a professional group dedicated to promoting the welfare of the commercial real estate industry, recently announced the designation of three new officers - president, vice president and treasurer - for a two-year term.
Michael Hurley, Jr., Esq, was elected president of MBA of NY. Hurley previously served as vice president for two years. He has extensive experience in commercial real estate finance representing commercial lenders in various financial transactions including bridge loans, mezzanine loans, construction loans, and permanent loans intended for securitization, syndication, participation or sale in the secondary mortgage market. Currently, Hurley is a partner at the law firm of Cassin & Cassin LLP.

"MBA of NY is so important, especially in times like these, when staying in touch with other professionals within the industry is vital for sharing information and keeping current with the current state of business. Michael Fletcher was elected vice president of MBA of NY. Previously, Fletcher served as the treasurer of the MBA of NY. Currently, Fletcher serves as vice president and senior relationship manager at Washington Mutual (WaMu) in the commercial real estate lending group. Since joining WaMu in 2002, Fletcher has been responsible for the origination and closing of term, construction and bridge loans secured by commercial and multi-family properties in the northeastern United States. Prior to joining WaMu, he spent 11 years at The Dime Savings Bank of New York, where he was first involved in portfolio and problem asset management including workouts, restructures and foreclosures before returning to commercial mortgage loan origination.

Vincent Nicoletta, Esq, was elected treasurer of MBA of NY. He previously served as the chairman of the group's educational board. Nicoletta is a founding principal of Greenberg Nicoletta & Stein, LLP, a full-service boutique real estate law firm based in the Grand Central District of Midtown Manhattan. Nicoletta's practice focuses on financings, acquisitions, dispositions, development projects, joint ventures and office and retail leasing. He represents a wide range of clients, including lenders, institutional investors, landlords, owners and developers. Prior to forming Greenberg Nicoletta & Stein, Vincent practiced with Sidley Austin Brown & Wood and Herrick Feinstein in New York.
